January 2013: The World We Want 2015 has published a framing paper for the global thematic consultation on energy in the post-2015 development agenda. The paper provides context and updates on the global consultation on energy, and poses questions to stimulate discussion on a post-2015 energy agenda.
16 January 2013: UN-Energy and the UN Secretary-General's Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) Initiative have launched the Global Thematic Consultation on Energy, in partnership with the Governments of Mexico and Norway. The Consultation aims to: contribute to a dialogue on the role of energy in a post-2015 framework; mobilize stakeholders to build a vision on priority areas and global objectives on energy; and ensure that the Consultation findings contribute to the post-2015 framework and related processes.
January 2013: The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and UN Women, the co-leaders of the Post-2015 Global Thematic Consultation on Inequalities, have released an online newsletter on the Consultation. The newsletter features the release of the Draft Report on Global Thematic Consultation on Inequalities, which is now available for comments, and online discussions taking place in January and February 2013.
The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and UN Women, the co-leaders of the global thematic consultation on inequalities, will hold a briefing for UN Member States on the status of the Global Consultation on Inequalities and its findings. The briefing will include highlights from the final draft of the synthesis report of the consultation.
9 January 2013: The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and UN Women have released a Draft Report on the Global Thematic Consultation on Inequalities. The Draft is based on global public consultations, held from September 2012-January 2013, on ensuring that addressing inequalities remains central in the post-2015 development agenda. Comments on the draft can be submitted until 31 January 2013.
December 2012: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) has released the 2012 volume of Unasylva on the theme "The power of forests." The report highlights outputs from the FAO Global Forest Resource Assessment and examines forest issues in the wake of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).
8 January 2013: The Overseas Development Institute (ODI) has launched a tracking system of emerging proposals on the post-2015 development goals. The online mechanism currently lists 93 proposals.
January 2013: The latest issue of the UN Global Compact Bulletin highlights the Global Compact Board's recent meeting to guide the priorities and direction of the initiative, including the strategic review and the contribution of the private sector to the post-2015 development process.
22 December 2012: A two-day forum on African priorities for the post-2015 development agenda has resulted in an Outcome Document that reflects those priorities and lists development enablers that participants identified as prerequisites for the post-2015 agenda. The forum, held in Dakar, Senegal, was one of several African events to build consensus on a post-2015 vision to be endorsed at the African Union (AU) Summit in May 2013.
January 2013: The online discussions for the global thematic consultations on education in the post-2015 development framework are now in progress. The consultations are supported by the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
