14 December 2012: The Vienna Policy Dialogue, held in preparation for the 2014 Development Cooperation Forum (DCF) of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and discussions on the post-2015 development agenda, highlighted applicable lessons from the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) experience.
11 December 2012: Parliamentarians and civil society organization (CSO) representatives from 12 countries in South, Southwest, North and Central Asia issued a declaration on priorities for accelerating achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), after discussions in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on 10-11 December 2012.
7 December 2012: The Global Youth Forum held from 3-6 December 2012, in Bali, Indonesia, has concluded with a declaration calling on governments to provide full access to education and health, and for youth leadership and participation in shaping the future development agenda. The Forum was organized as part of a 20-year review of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) Programme of Action.
4 December 2012: A UN regional forum on conflict and fragility held in Monrovia, Liberia, has called for peace and security to be reflected as one of four core dimensions in the post-2015 development framework, along with the economic, social and environmental dimensions.
7 December 2012: Participants at the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) World Council emphasized the development impacts of local and regional government's work, calling for their role to be reflected in post-2015 development goals, and in the 2016 Habitat III conference. The statements were made at the conference of the Council held in Dakar, Senegal, from 4-6 December 2012.
22 November 2012: Participants at a recent high-level event on accelerating achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the post-2015 development agenda have issued the “Manila Declaration by Parliamentarians and Civil Society on the MDG Acceleration and the Post-2015 Development Agenda,” according to the UN Millennium Campaign.
27 November 2012: A joint opinion piece by two women leaders, titled “Say Yes to Women's Participation in the UNFCCC,” highlights women's essential role in the global response to climate change, and champions the tabling of a gender decision at the ongoing climate negotiations in Doha, Qatar.
26 November 2012: The UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service (NGLS) has issued a report of its consultations for the UN Secretary-General's High-level Panel (HLP) on the post-2015 development agenda. The report provides civil society recommendations, which urge the UN to create the conditions to end poverty and protect the rights of all, while also ensuring environmental protection and fair and equitable access to resources.
29 November 2012: The Third Session of the Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in the Americas has adopted a "Communiqué of Santiago: Investing for Resilience," which calls for stepping up efforts to fully implement mechanisms and key actions to accelerate implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) for disaster risk reduction (DRR).
27 November 2012: The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) held a live chat on Facebook on the topic "Keeping the Momentum Beyond 2015: Moving Forward Towards a New Global Development Agenda," on 27 November 2012. The online discussion, which attracted approximately 900 participants, focused on the current processes and thinking on moving toward a post-2015 UN development agenda.
