11 May 2012: The UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has announced that Thailand’s Prime Minster, Yingluck Shinawatra, has joined the Global Leaders for Tourism Campaign, a joint initiative of the UNWTO and World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). The initiative aims to rally support for tourism among world leaders, encouraging them to acknowledge tourism’s key role in delivering more sustained and balanced growth, and to give the sector greater priority in national policies.

10 May 2012: The UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Republic of Korea have agreed to expand their cooperation on various issues, including green industry. Current cooperation takes place through various ministries and organizations, such as the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, and addresses preparations for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20), as well as issuing joint publications on green growth and green industry.
