UNITAR Launches Green Dreams Campaign
6 January 2012: The UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) has launched an initiative encouraging the public to share "green dreams" on YouTube, as a contribution to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20). Launched in the UK, the project invites politicians, sports stars, musicians and celebrities to record their thoughts on sustainability.
Green Dreams aims to capture a wide spectrum of culturally imagined and ecologically likely futures, and stimulate transformation and a transition to low carbon societies.
The initiative is soliciting the recording on smartphones and cameras of dreams of 20 seconds to 1 minute long, and will organize them into 14 thematic areas. A resulting virtual gallery of dreams aims to form connections among shared visions about the future. [Rio+20 News] [My Green Dream Website]
